Maw waws; Part 1

In life, you grow to learn to love something that you initially did not. Some other things you just loved or abhorred from the beginning. I used to love cats when I was a wee thing. What made it change as time went by, I know not.

A few years ago, when my uncle gave my mom a pair of kittens, I fell in love with them. It was not because of their presence that I began to love cats again, but they did rekindle my lost love for felines.

My mom named the dark brown one by the name of Binky and the other one was named Comel by my little sister.

( Upside down: Comel; Sideways: Binky )

The story that came along with these two kitty cats made me love them even more. According to my uncle (if I am not mistaken), Binky and Comel had another sibling, but he or she died. It makes me laugh at times when my mom calls Binky and Comel her 'babies' or 'anak'.

They both used to be small and skinny (or should the correct adjective be thin?).

Comel now has a very round tummy. Her body is not that small as it was a few years ago. She loves sleeping on the television and on my brother's Nike shoebox. Since the box is smaller than her, her feet tend to dangle off the side of the box. If she were to sleep with a human being, she sleeps at their feet. Never the cuddly type. She loves to bite you, never until you feel excruciating pain though.

I think Comel plays hard to get most of the time. She gets mad if we try to pet her tummy or back, but a few seconds later, she would be lying down in front of you waiting for her tummy to be rubbed. And sometimes she will not budge until you do so. I would be all "Your wish my command, Comel baby!"
I wish I could show you a photo of her in that position but sadly I do not have one at the moment.

Binky, however, is very...reserved. She seems very nice and quiet but she is actually very...fierce? Stern? Serious? Well, she is quite hard to describe. Compared to Comel, Binky actually does sleep with human beings like a human being. She sleeps with her head on the pillow or sometimes she sleeps with her head on your arm. I THINK SHE IS A HUMAN BEING. Her body is way skinnier than Comel's. She has this oddly shaped tail that gave her the nickname 'ekor bengkok'. Like Comel, she is also very friendly and she shows it more than Comel does.

Oh God. I think I know them like they are real humans.

But the story does not end here just yet.

One delightful day, a beautiful bushy cat with soft fur came along to the house. According to my mom, she was really skinny then and seemed like she belonged to someone. My mom gave her food and water. That cat decided to stay from that day on. Today she looks like a fattened up turkey.

I nicknamed her 'Cow' because of the cow patches that she has.

 (Emma in a closet)

She was named Emma. And I was actually surprised how she loved to talk. One early morning at around 3 a.m., I went to the kitchen to have a cup of water. Emma tagged along and walked beside me, talking non-stop. I just had to meow back at her. And she replied. And the conversation went on and on. The funny thing is, I could not understand a word she was saying and I was enjoying it. I found that she walks funny. She either hop-walks like a squirrel or runs and then drifts like a race car at corners or even crawls. Oh but she does not know how to not scratch or bite humans. And it hurts.

When she first came, she had only two of her lower front teeth and all of her upper teeth (cats are supposed to have six upper and sixe lower). Now she has lost all her lower front teeth. It's funny how she kind of reminds me of a granny with not enough teeth. It's even funnier when she is eating. She tends to be a bit kepoh or cautious or whatever such that when someone walks by her while she is munching on her food, she just HAS to look at him or her, WHILE SHE IS STILL MUNCHING. What happens is, the food in her mouth just spills out bit by bit, if not whole, like bullet casings falling to the ground after a gun is fired.

All three love my mom and brother to bits.

Three furry bundles of joy who love to sleep in my brother's room and in my mom's closet.

OMG. They're so cute. If I were about to sleep, my brother's cat accompanies and loves to sleep beside our head which is so cute and sometimes when we wake up during the midnight, the legs (or hands?) will be on our face

OMG that is even cuter! I would love to experience that.
