Since everyone's blogging about their idyllic Eid celebrations, I might as well too.

Raya Eve

We headed off to Tangkak and arrived minutes before Maghrib time, and berbuka-ed at Mak Te's house [ since our grandmama was there also ]. Chit chatted a bit and found out that my cousin had a baby boy! :) Tk nyabau nk tgk.

Mymom asked us to do some spring cleaning here and there to get our grandmama's house ready and in the festive mood-ish.

After all that, I was already dead tired, the others were busy playing with the little meowies [ oops, lupa nk letak gmbau meowies tuh kn? nnti nnti je eh eh ]. Buttttttt I suddenly remembered that the MTV awards was supposed to be on, so I sat and watched it with mybrother. Sms-ed some of my friends, though I didn't get as many raya wishies as last year.

Ended up sleeping at 1a.m.++, dozing off while listening to Use Somebody. Hurrah for KOL :)

Raya - DAY 1

It was freezing cold when I woke up, which was at 5.30a.m. I thought it was 6.30a.m.

While other Malays were busy eating RendangLemangKetupat for breakfast, we settled for a simple one; fried mihun and lotsa hot hot tea :) Mak Lang and Pak Lang came over and we discovered that their bajus were Purple too! Surprisingly, most families I knew were dressed up in Purple. Memang dh janji ke apa? After everyone wore their new baju kurungs, we visited mymom's relatives nearby. Like other families, we did the whole salam salam thing. At one house [ Mak Not's housie ], mysister decided to make a bideo! It was hilarious, and fun :D

Then we went to Mak Long's and to Mak Te's again for dinner.

RAYA - DAY 2


Since Acik had his Nasi Arab recipe ready but the ingredients not, we had to head over to Jusco Melaka to buy some groceries. It opened at 1p.m. since it was the Raya season. I saw Aiman and his brother there too, quite surprised.
We started cooking that evening, and hurrah! It tasted good. And guess what?
Mysister and I were the ones who made the whole Maqloba' [ nasi arab ]! Everybody else kept disappearing; sleeping, roaming around Tangkak and such.
Ohh ohh and Mak Ki's and Acu's were there too :)


RAYA - DAY 3


Yet again, Acik wanted to prepare Nasi Arab, but using a different recipe; Khaulah. Thankyous to his friend for providing such a complicated yet funny recipe for us to read and use.

And then we headed home, mymom was already tired by then.
My head fell plop on my pillow and I dozed off instantly.
